Mayor of Turkey’s Etimesgut detained in corruption probe

Turkish authorities carried out an operation at the Etimesgut municipality in Ankara on Wednesday as part of a corruption investigation.

Mayor Erdal Besikcioglu, an actor and member of the opposition Republican People’s Party, was among those detained.

Several other people were also taken into custody, according to local reports.
