Dmitry Kiselev steps down from Vesti Nedeli

Dmitry Kiselev is stepping down as the host of the flagship Sunday news show "Vesti Nedeli" on the "Rossiya 1" channel after 14 years, state broadcaster VGTRK announced.

He will be replaced by State Duma lawmaker and TV presenter Yevgeny Popov.

Starting September 6, Kiselev will host a new Sunday opinion show, "Kiselev," focused on his personal analysis of weekly developments. He will also retain his executive role as Director General of the "Rossiya Segodnya" media group. The move follows reports of growing dissatisfaction with his coverage within the presidential administration.
