US Top Security Officials Convene at the White House
CIA Director John Ratcliffe, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Caine reportedly held a meeting at the White House, according to journalists in the White House press pool via social media platform X.
According to reports, Ratcliffe, Hegseth, and Caine were seen departing the White House on Wednesday afternoon following a meeting in the West Wing, where the Oval Office is located.
While reporters did not confirm whether US President Donald Trump attended the meeting, the official White House schedule indicated a closed-door intelligence briefing for the president at 11:00 AM local time (19:00 Baku time).
The meeting follows Ratcliffe's visit to Moscow on August 25. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that the CIA director's trip was related to intelligence channel communications between the two countries.
