Ukraine disables 51% of Russian oil refining capacity, defense minister says
Ukrainian long-range strikes have knocked out 51% of Russia's total oil refining capacity, Ukrainian Defense Minister Yevhen Khmara stated. He emphasized that these targeted operations severely undermine Russia's domestic economy, its capacity to sustain military operations, and the logistical supply lines of its armed forces.
According to the minister, the strikes represent deliberate, systematic, and well-planned operations aimed at degrading the Russian military machine and dismantling its military-economic base. Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense specified that targeted sites include major refineries such as Moscow, Yaroslavl, KINEF (Kirishi), Ust-Luga, Perm, Ilsky, Saratov, and Syzran, among others. Khmara stressed that conducting deep strikes inside Russian territory effectively brings the war onto Russian soil and remains one of the defense ministry's foremost strategic priorities.
