Ararat Mirzoyan Rules Out Armenia's Return to the CSTO
Armenia suspended its working participation in the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) long ago and has frozen its membership, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated during a joint press briefing with his Slovenian counterpart in Yerevan, local media reported.
Responding to remarks by former CSTO Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha regarding the potential formal expulsion of Armenia from the bloc, Mirzoyan affirmed that Yerevan sees no possibility of returning to the alliance or altering the current status of its engagement. The foreign minister’s remarks reiterate Armenia's persistent policy of disengagement from the Moscow-led regional defense grouping.
