Armenian Opposition Declares Nationwide Consolidation at Karapetyan’s Residence

Twelve Armenian opposition political movements, including two parliamentary factions, have reached an agreement to pool resources and formally initiated a nationwide consolidation drive, according to Armenian news outlets.
The closed-door gathering took place at the private residence of Russian-Armenian tycoon and leader of the "Strong Armenia" party, Samvel Karapetyan. Narek Karapetyan, head of the "Strong Armenia" parliamentary faction, stated that while ideological divergences persist on certain peripheral issues, participants resolved to act jointly across critical national priorities. In a unified declaration, the opposition forces opposed any "coerced" revisions to the national Constitution and insisted on pursuing peace "without unilateral concessions and territorial losses." The declaration also outlined the preservation of national identity, safeguarding the Armenian Apostolic Church, and restoring civil liberties as central objectives. The bloc appealed to other civic and political figures to join the coalition, with the alignment emerging against the backdrop of ongoing judicial proceedings regarding pre-trial restrictions against Samvel Karapetyan.
