Baku refinery secures ISO 50001 certification

The Heydar Aliyev Baku Oil Refinery has obtained international ISO 50001 certification, verifying that its energy management system meets global standards, operator SOCAR Downstream said.

Implementing the standard is aimed at optimizing energy consumption, lowering operating costs, and reducing environmental impact. The company noted that the certified energy management framework also helps the refinery cushion the impact of rising utility tariffs while strengthening investor confidence.
