US denies reports of Rubio resignation

The U.S. Department of State dismissed media reports suggesting Secretary of State Marco Rubio is preparing to step down from his post, news agency APA reported.
Dylan Johnson, Assistant Secretary of State for Global Public Affairs, rejected a report by The Independent claiming Rubio planned to leave Donald Trump’s administration to pursue a 2028 presidential bid. Johnson labeled the claim fabricated fake news reliant on anonymous sourcing.
The Independent had reported that Rubio was weighing his exit following the Republican midterm election losses. Neither Rubio nor the White House has announced any formal departure plans.
