7 of the world's most terrifying theme park rides

Last month, a horrific crash at Alton Towers struck fear into the bravest thrill-seekers.
Two carriages on the Smiler rollercoaster smashed into one another leaving four people seriously injured.
But with theme parks always pushing the limits, rides are becoming increasingly frightening.
Here's a list of some of the world's most terrifying park rides that you definitely wouldn't want to get stuck on.
Takashiba
Height: 141ft
Speed: 62mph
Location: Fuji-Q Highland theme park, Japan
So this death trap in Japan is the world's steepest roller coaster.
It takes riders up a 141ft climb before dropping them at a 121° angle.
(For those that don't know what that means, it's pretty f****** steep)
The name is a pun which translates to "high fly car".
Probably not as funny as they intended.
X2 rollercoaster
Height: 190ft
Speed: 76mph
Location: Six Flags Magic Mountain, California
This is the first 4D (not G) roller coaster.
Riders get spun in, out, in, out and shaken all about as they hurtle down a track at 75mph.
Keen roller coaster…ers get taken up the initial climb backwards and then dropped from 190ft.
Nice view though.
Giant Canyon Swing
Height: 1300ft
Speed: 50mph
Location: Glenwood Caverns, Colorado, US
This giant swing sits 1300ft above the Colorado river.
Maniacs travel from all over the globe to go on the 50mph "ride" – which photos of are even a struggle to look at.
Brave souls are forced to sign a waiver form before entry in case the five minute experience results in their DEATH.
Thank goodness for that piece of paper, aye?.
Wicked Twister
Height: 215ft
Speed: 72mph
Location: Sandusky, Ohio
If you don't like corkscrews, look away now.
This winding, twisting, crossing – and quite frankly mind-bending – roller coaster looks like something from a nightmare.
Carriages are set off at 70mph up a 215ft part of the track which screws to…well, nowhere.
Riders are then dropped down backwards to really bring in the dizziness.
Not for the faint-hearted or those who are breathing – so everyone.
Insanity
Height: 900ft
Speed: 40mph limit
Location: Statosphere, Las Vegas
Most go to Vegas for the gambling, booze and partying.
And some have got to experience Insanity – which sits 900ft above the brightly-lit strip.
With a maximum spinning speed of 40mph, just a seat separates daredevils from certain death.
Yet visitors still seem to love it.
What happens in Vegas, should definitely stay in Vegas.
