IOC president arrives in Baku for opening ceremony

Thomas Bach, president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), has arrived in Azerbaijan to attend the opening ceremony of the inaugural European Games due on Friday evening.

Upon arriving at Baku's Heydar Aliyev International Airport on Thursday night (11 June), the IOC president and his wife Claudia were welcomed by Azerbaijan’s Minister of Youth and Sport, Azad Rahimov and representatives of the Baku 2015 European Games Operations Committee.
