20% of those who want to start business in Karabakh are interested in agriculture

About 20% of more than 1,300 business applications in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan are related to agriculture, Orkhan Mammadov, the chairman of the Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency under the Azerbaijani Economy Ministry (SMBDA) said at a conference in Baku dedicated to the project "Encouragement of local food producers and agribusiness entities through consulting services, formation of new models of the value chain and development of agritourism».
"The implementation of the project coincides with an important period, and I hope that it will contribute to the expansion of the application of new development approaches in this sector. Undoubtedly, the liberated territories have great potential as a new driving force for the development of the agricultural sector. The advantages of the Karabakh region, water resources, favorable geographical position will allow bringing the development of the agricultural sector to a qualitatively new level in unity with the smart village concept, which will be implemented here,” Mammadov said.
