Third son of detained Soviet nostalgia figure Saleh Samedov dismissed

 Mehrail Samedov, the third son of Saleh Samedov — the arrested former head of the Council of Elders in Azerbaijan’s Imishli district — has been dismissed from his post, Qafqazinfo reported.

He served as a department head at the State Agency for the Protection of Strategic Facilities.

Earlier, his two brothers had also been dismissed — one led a penitentiary facility, and the other was deputy representative of the Imishli district executive authority for the Yeni Bahramtepe administrative area.

The head of the agency, Major General Ilgar Abbasov, was also removed from his position days ago. An investigation revealed ties between Abbasov and Saleh Samedov, who had awarded him a medal marking the agency’s 30th anniversary.
