Another landmine incident reported in Azerbaijan
A staff member of Azerbaijan’s National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA), Samir Imamverdiyev, was injured after stepping on an anti-tank mine near the border with Armenia.
The blast occurred in the village of Bala Jafarli. Medical officials said his right foot was amputated at the ankle.
A day earlier, authorities reported that Natig Aliyev, a resident of Kelenterli village in Barda district, was wounded after triggering a mine in the village of Syrkhavand in the Agdere region. He had entered an uncleared area and was taken to hospital for surgery.
