Number of Azerbaijani universities in Times Higher Education ranking rises to four

The number of Azerbaijani universities included in the 2026 subject rankings published by Times Higher Education has increased to four, Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Science and Education said.

According to the ministry and the State Agency for Science and Higher Education, the ranked institutions across 11 subject areas are Baku State University, Azerbaijan State University of Economics, Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University and Azerbaijan Technical University.

This year marks the first inclusion of the Azerbaijan State University of Economics and Azerbaijan Technical University in the ranking. The range of subject areas represented by Azerbaijani universities has also expanded, with new entries in Business and Economics and Social Sciences, alongside Engineering and Physical Sciences.
