"Qerbi Azerbaijan TV" marks third anniversary
Qerbi Azerbaijan TV is marking the third anniversary of the start of its operations.
Editor-in-Chief Esmira Gasimova said in a social media post that the channel aired its first programme on August 1, 2023. The inaugural two-hour broadcast was prepared in just one week.
She said Qerbi Azerbaijan TV had focused since its launch on the stories of Azerbaijanis deported from the territory of present-day Armenia, as well as the preservation of historical memory, cultural heritage and destroyed monuments.
“I proudly say that I am the editor-in-chief of Qerbi Azerbaijan TV, and I am proud of my work in support of the idea of returning to Western Azerbaijan. Despite the difficulties, we continue our activities with great enthusiasm,” Gasimova said.
She said the channel had a small team but continued to receive support from the Western Azerbaijan Community. Gasimova thanked everyone who had contributed to the television station’s work and expressed hope that its broadcasts would one day be produced from Western Azerbaijan.
Qerbi Azerbaijan TV operates mainly online and distributes its programmes through YouTube. Its coverage includes the history of Azerbaijani settlements in the territory of present-day Armenia, deportations, renamed place names, destroyed historical monuments, cultural heritage and the issue of Azerbaijanis returning to lands they consider their historical homeland.
The channel produces interviews, documentaries, discussion programmes and educational content aimed at preserving historical records and personal memories.
We congratulate the staff of Qerbi Azerbaijan TV on its third anniversary and wish them success in preserving national memory and promoting historical awareness.
