Deputy FM highlights Azerbaijan’s green energy transition at Doha Forum
Azerbaijan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Fariz Rzayev participated in the 23rd Doha Forum in Qatar and spoke at a panel dedicated to climate diplomacy, the Foreign Ministry said.
Rzayev outlined Azerbaijan’s green energy transition strategy, the development of alternative energy sources and the country’s achievements during its COP29 presidency. He also noted Azerbaijan’s contribution to preparations for COP30 in Brazil and ongoing work within the COP “troika” climate diplomacy mechanism.
During the visit, Rzayev held meetings with the leadership and faculty of Lusail University, as well as with the management of the International Center for Political Studies. Discussions covered Azerbaijan’s post-independence foreign policy, bilateral relations, initiatives within international organizations, restoration of sovereignty and territorial integrity, the normalization process with Armenia, and Azerbaijan–Qatar cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral formats.
