Transit from Uzbekistan to Azerbaijan and Europe speeds up
Kazakhstan’s Mangystau region has completed a major overhaul of the “Kuryk–Zhetybay” highway, director of the Mangystau branch of KazAvtoZhol Kazbek Mambetov said.
The transit flow is now directed straight to the Port of Kuryk, bypassing Aktau. The “Kuryk–Zhetybay” road is a key transit link used to move cargo from Uzbekistan and Russia to Kuryk Port, and from there to Azerbaijan and Europe.
Following the reconstruction, transport has become faster and safer. The new route saves up to 120 kilometers and significantly improves logistics across the region.
