Shah Deniz consortium awards $156 million contract for SD Compression platform support structure
The Shah Deniz consortium has signed a $156 million construction contract for the fabrication of the support jacket and piles for the Shah Deniz Compression (SDC) platform. The contract was awarded to BOS Shelf LLC and BOS Shelf International FZCO.
The scope includes engineering, fabrication and assembly of a 9,900-tonne support jacket and 5,800-tonne pipe piles, system testing, and load-out of the completed structure onto a barge for offshore installation. All work will take place at the BOS Shelf-operated Heydar Aliyev Baku Deepwater Jackets Factory. Around 97% of the workforce is expected to be Azerbaijani, with an estimated 2 million work-hours required.
Construction is planned to start in Q4 2025 and finish in Q1 2028.
bp project director Ilgar Mammadov said the contract marks a major step for the SDC project and reflects long-term partnerships and confidence that BOS Shelf will deliver the platform jacket on schedule and within budget, citing its past performance on ACG and Shah Deniz 2 structures.
