SOCAR makes third coupon payment on its green bonds
Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR has made the third coupon payment on its green bonds, transferring USD 3 million to investors on December 8, SOCAR Capital said on Monday.
The bonds, issued on January 15, 2025, have drawn strong investor interest. Since secondary market trading began on March 7, a total of 423 transactions worth USD 16.67 million have been executed on the Baku Stock Exchange (BSE).
Overall, trading volume in SOCAR bonds on the BSE has reached around USD 82.4 million, with 1,566 deals — accounting for 36.5% of all corporate bond transactions on the exchange.
Since launching its first bond programme in 2016, SOCAR has paid out USD 52 million in coupon income to investors.
The green bonds, with ABB Invest acting as market maker, were issued for five years with an annual yield of 6%, are exempt from all taxes, and pay coupons quarterly. Total expected income to investors over the full term amounts to USD 60 million.
