Construction of Aghband–Kalala road bridge completed

Construction of the road bridge over the Araz River linking Aghband and Kalala has been completed, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Prime Minister Şahin Mustafayev said on February 23.

Speaking at the 17th meeting of the State Commission on economic, trade and humanitarian cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iran, Mustafayev noted that the bridge is expected to be put into operation once border and customs infrastructure works are finalized.

According to him, the project will connect the East Zangezur economic region with Nakhchivan via the shortest and most efficient route. It will also form an important part of a transport corridor linking the Persian Gulf with the Black Sea.
