A total of 49.50% of voters supported incumbent head of state Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the first round of elections in Türkiye, reported from TRT TV channel.

Some 99.87% of the ballots have already been counted.

Erdogan's opponent Kemal Kilicdaroglu won 44.89% of the votes.

Head of the Supreme Election Council of Türkiye, Ahmet Yener, said 99.04% of votes have been counted.

He said that 84.06% of the votes received from outside Türkiye were counted.

According to the information, the candidate of the People's Alliance, the chairman of the ruling Justice and Development Party, and incumbent President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, had 49.4% of the votes.

Kemal Kilicdaroglu, the candidate of the Nation Alliance and the leader of the Republican People's Party, took second place with 44.96% of votes.

5.2% of voters voted for Sinan Ogan, the candidate of the Ata Alliance.
