Finland to open UAV manufacturing plant for Ukraine, NATO needs

Finnish military company Summa Defence will open a drone (UAV) manufacturing plant to supply the Armed Forces of Ukraine and NATO countries to continue the conflict with Russia, the corporation's CEO Jussi Holopainen said, reported from TASS.

"The demand for drone technology and production capacity is high. UAVs will be supplied not only to Ukraine but also to European Union and NATO countries," the company's press service quoted him as saying

The new plant will be a joint project between Summa Defence and several Ukrainian manufacturers, with the company planning to create naval unmanned combat systems as well. Production is scheduled to begin in the first half of 2025.

According to Holopainen, establishing military factories in Finland allegedly increases the security of supplies to Ukraine.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had already noted that any cargo containing weapons for Kyiv would become a legitimate target for Russia.
