Saakashvili calls Aliyev-Pashinyan meeting in Washington 'historic'

Former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili called the expected meeting between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Washington “a major historic event.”
He said the anticipated peace deal brokered by Donald Trump would mark “the liberation of the Caucasus from Russia’s grip.
” Saakashvili added that Russia is losing its dominance over Azerbaijan and Armenia, while still maintaining influence in Georgia through the ruling “Georgian Dream” party.
