Kazakhstan calls on the Azerbaijani people to join campaign it has launched in the spirit of respect for those killed with nuclear weapons, the Kazakh embassy in Azerbaijan told APA.

The embassy said the campaign, which is being held seventh year already, is called ATOM Project and aims to urge the whole world to stop the production of nuclear weapons.

"The campaign calls on the world population to hold a minute of silence of respect for victims of nuclear weapon tests. The process takes place annually on 29 August at 11:05 Astana time, the moment when the hands of clocks form the letter V (meaning victory). This symbolizes victory in the fight against the nuclear weapon and over fear,” said the embassy.
