Club chiefs are considering the gesture now the Blues' emblem is being redesigned, leaving supporters with out-of-date inkings.

Forking out for each fan's laser treatment might be costly, but City's pockets are well-lined.

The current league leaders just received a £265million injection of cash from China.

Changes to the iconic crest were decided last week, when City announced they would take a rounder shape similar to an earlier badge.

The decision was backed by the majority of fans, who were asked their opinion in a survey handed out during a match against Bournemouth in October.

Kevin Parker, General Secretary of City's Supporters Club, told The Sun: "I am delighted that the club consulted with the fans about our most important symbol.

"It is impressive that they canvassed our opinions on this matter and that they want to reflect our feedback in the ultimate design.

"On a personal note, while the Eagle badge will rightly live on in fans’ hearts, minds and on football kits for all that it has come to symbolise over the years, I am pleased that we will once again see the round design which has twice featured in our past badges."

The new design will be revealed in the coming weeks, City said.

The current badge's three star design has been a source for ridicule, with rivals Manchester United joking that it doesn't represent the trophies won.

It has been the symbol since 1997, when it replaced a circular crest with the red rose of Lancashire.

Both crests included a symbol of Manchester's ship canal and three stripes for the city's three rivers: The Irk, Irwell and Medlock.
