Eto'o named Antalyaspor interim player-manager

Samuel Eto'o has been named as Antalyaspor's interim player-manager following Yusuf Simsek's exit from the Turkish outfit.
The former Chelsea and Everton striker, who sealed a move to Antalyaspor back in June, has been given three games to prove himself in the managerial hotseat.
Eto'o, 34, will take charge of Antalyaspor's matches against Trabzonspor, Fenerbahce and Gaziantepspor.
Antalyaspor will then have a further two weeks to step up their search for a new manager or they could even decide to hand Eto'o the reins on a permanent basis.
The former Cameroon captain, who has three Champions League winner's medals in his highly impressive trophy cabinet, is the Super Lig's top scorer after netting 13 goals in 15 leagues games so far this season.
Patrick M'Boma, who played alongside Eto'o at international level, believes his former team-mate has the 'personality and knowledge' to be a managerial hit.
Speaking to the BBC, M'Boma said: 'I know it was in his plans to be a manager – he told me many years ago.
'But from what I know he has no experience. I hope he will be a good manager but I do not know.
He has the personality and the knowledge, but I am not sure he will have the patience. If he can improve on the areas where he is weak he could be a success.'
He will be assisted by the club's technical director Mehmet Ugurlu during his time in control of the Super Lig outfit.
Antalyaspor are currently in ninth spot, 15 points behind league leaders Besiktas.
His first match in football management will come away to Trabzonspor on Saturday evening.
