Conor McGregor to have rematch with Nate Diaz at UFC 200

The Stockton slugger battled through adversity to record a second-round submission victory over the UFC featherweight champion.

Two weeks ago, McGregor, 19-10, revealed his desire to have a rematch with Diaz, who was a late replacement for lightweight champion.

"I think I'd like to see that, yeah," he told TMZ.

"I mean, it's one that interests me, most certainly. You know, when I look at the fight I was winning the fight.

"I won the first round and a half, I feel. I'd love to get that one back."

And 'The Notorious' will get the chance to avenge his third career defeat at UFC 200, which takes place on July 9.

UFC Tonight annouced the booking of the eagerly-anticipated rematch, which will once again take place in the welterweight division, in the early hours of the morning.The Dubliner's rematch with Diaz, which will top the bill at the Las Vegas Arena, has set up an interim featherweight title fight between top contenders Jose Aldo and Frankie Edgar.

McGregor, who prior to losing to Diaz was on a 15 fight win streak, has opened up as the bookies favourite for the contest.

And the featherweight champ's training partner Gunnar Nelson reckons he'll pick apart the Ultimate Fighter season five winner.

"I think he will take his time and pick him apart a bit better," the UFC welterweight told Starsport.

"I think Diaz won't be able to get him down when Conor is on and he reserves his energy and his balance is there.

"He punched himself out a little bit and didn't reserve his energy as well as he could've.

"And I believe that's what cost him the fight. And I think it will be different if they fight again."
