Cause of Silk Way cargo plane disaster in Afghanistan has been determined

The Antonov-12 aircraft of Azerbaijan’s Silk Way crashed in Afghanistan on May 18 following hitting an obstruction, said Arif Mammadov, head of Azerbaijan’s State Civil Aviation Administration, at a briefing on Thursday. Necessary investigative actions are ongoing, Mammadov said.
The rented plane was managed by international crew, which included a citizen of Uzbekistan (the captain), three citizens of Ukraine and five Azerbaijani nationals.
The State Civil Aviation Administration established a commission to investigate the incident. The commission members have today left for Afghanistan for further investigations.
