Azerbaijan to host World Chess Olympiad

The 42nd World Chess Olympiad will kick off in Baku, Azerbaijan September 1. The opening ceremony will be held at the National Gymnastics Arena at 19:00 (GMT+4 hours).

Some 176 countries have been registered to participate in the Olympiad. Around 181 men’s teams and 142 women’s teams will take part in the event.

Eleven rounds of the Olympiad will be held until September 14.
