Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR will produce 292 million cubic meters of gas and around 54,750 tons of condensate annually through commissioning a new well which is being drilled on Bulla Deniz field in the Caspian Sea, SOCAR said in a message posted on its official website Jan. 26.

According to the message, the projected well depth is 6,200 meters. The daily debit is expected to reach 800,000 cubic meters of gas and 150 tons of condensate.

Operation of the Bulla Deniz field started in 1975. More than 62 billion cubic meters of gas and 12 million tons of oil and gas condensate have been produced at the field since then.

SOCAR produced 6.27 billion cubic meters of gas from the country’s offshore and onshore fields using its own funds in 2016, as compared to 6.87 billion cubic meters of gas produced in 2015.

The total volume of gas produced from those fields and independently developed ones was 29.37 billion cubic meters in 2016, as compared to 29.05 billion cubic meters in 2015.
