Violations revealed in work of 24 municipalities in Azerbaijan last year

Numerous violations, including misappropriation of property and abuse of power were revealed in the work of 24 municipalities in Azerbaijan last year, reads an annual report by the body exercising administrative control of the activities of municipalities.
 
The Ministry of Justice has already sent the collected materials to law enforcement authorities for legal assessment, and appropriate measures have been taken, says the report.  
 
According to the report, a criminal case has been initiated on the sale of a land plot owned by the municipality of Ismayilli’s Basgal village to a lower cost than the market price. In addition, criminal cases have been filed against five municipal heads.
