As part of the Days of Azerbaijani Culture being held with the organizational support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Germany, a concert by the State Symphonic Orchestra of Azerbaijan named after Uzeir Hajibeyli took place, October 28, in the city of Hannover.

Speaking at the concert held at Hannover Congress Centre, Ambassador Parviz Shahbazov said that this concert was one of the series of events held at the initiative of Azerbaijan’s First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva. The Ambassador talked also about the rapid development of our country, its rich music traditions, and brought to the attention of the audience that Garabagh, known as the “conservatoire” of Azerbaijan, has been occupied by Armenia.

The host of the event gave information about the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and its president Mehriban Aliyeva. The host underscored significant works done by the Foundation and its head Mehriban Aliyeva in Azerbaijan and foreign countries towards preserving cultural heritage, propagation of cultural relations and education of the youth.

National and classic music was performed at the concert, conducted by Fuad Ibrahimov.

The guests were presented the book “German traces in Azerbaijan”, a new publication of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. Written by German professor, doctor Eva Maria Auch, the book interprets Germans’ inhabitation of Azerbaijan in terms of history, and reflects scientific data, maps and photos.

Within the framework of the event, visitors made themselves acquainted with the photo-exhibition “German traces in Azerbaijan” and an exposition consisting of art works by winners of the competition “Germany through an artist’s eyes”.

The event was attended by deputies of the Lower Saxony Federal Lands’ parliament, members of Hannover city council, representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Germany, representatives of the public and press, as well as Turkish consul Mehmet Gunay, President of the University of Hannover Erchi Barke, Deputy Mayor of Hannover Thomas Herrman, Hannover's Police Chief Uwe Luhrig, City Councillor Maximilian Oppelt and Chairman of Jewish Community in Lower Saxony Michael Furst.
