1.3b manat earmarked for Baku European Games

The Azerbaijani government plans to allocate 1.3 billion manat from the state budget for the upcoming European Games next year. 

The draft state budget published on the website of the Ministry of Finance says 1.3 billion manat will be earmarked for "funding the development of sports infrastructure for the Games, organizational and other works." Total public capital expenditures in the state budget of Azerbaijan for 2015 is provided in the amount of 6 billion 930 million manat.

First European games will be held in Baku on 12-28 June, 2015. As previously reported, the competition in nine sports will  have a license  nature for the next Summer Olympic Games to be held in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro. They  are  archery, athletics, beach volleyball, cycling, shooting, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo and triathlon.
