Islamic Games: Azerbaijan ranks 4th with 58 medals

After the 10th day of the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games held in Konya, Turkiye, the number of medals won by Azerbaijani athletes increased to 58, including 18 gold, 22 silver and 18 bronze awards.

With this result, Azerbaijan ranked 4th in the overall ranking of the participating countries.

In the first three positions, respectively, Turkiye has 209 (79 gold, 73 silver, 57 bronze), Iran 94 (32 gold, 24 silver, 38 bronze), and Uzbekistan 86 (27 gold, 24 silver, 35 bronze) medals.

So far, 42 out of 56 countries have won medals.

The Azerbaijani team won medals in 11 sports - wrestling (8 gold, 8 silver, 7 bronze), rhythmic gymnastics (5 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze), aerobics (2 gold, 3 silver), taekwondo (1 gold, 2 silver, 2 bronze), gymnastics (1 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze), athletics (1 gold, 2 silver), fencing (1 silver, 2 bronze), handball (1 silver), swimming (1 silver) weightlifting (3 bronze) and para-archery (2 bronze).
