Speaker: Pashinyan to present sensational details about 44-day war

Speaker: Pashinyan to present sensational details about 44-day war

Armenian Parliament Speaker Alen Simonyan promised that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will present sensational details about the circumstances of the 44-day war during the meeting of the commission to investigate it, reported from Sputnik-Armenia.

Simultaneously with Simonyan’s briefing in the National Assembly, a meeting of the Commission on Investigation of the 44-Day War is being held, where the prime minister is speaking.

Simonyan believes that Pashinyan’s live speech in the commission is not a manifestation of an unequal attitude towards politicians. He claims that no one has previously expressed a desire to speak live in the commission. The politician believes that many are simply trying to avoid live broadcasts.

"The opposition had an opportunity to ask questions to the prime minister on the air on all the accusations voiced in recent years, but they did not use this opportunity,” the Armenian speaker noted.

At the same time, he considers the accusations that the prime minister is trying to shift the responsibility onto the opposition by speaking live on air are inappropriate. The politician urged the opposition to come to the meeting and ask the necessary questions. H enoted that the opposition has nothing to say.

"Let them come and demand that some part of the meeting be held behind closed doors,” he said.

Earlier, former Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, former and current chiefs of the General Staff Onik Gasparyan and Edward Asryan, and a number of other officials visited the commission and answered questions from its members.
