Israel strikes Hezbollah military targets in southern Lebanon

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have conducted targeted airstrikes against military objectives belonging to the armed wing of the Hezbollah movement in southern Lebanon. 

According to the information , which cites the IDF's press service on Telegram, in the Shihin area of southern Lebanon, the IDF identified a Hezbollah terrorist cell responsible for launching rockets at the Zarit region. Israeli Air Force jets swiftly attacked the building housing the terrorists, as stated by the military press service.

Furthermore, the IDF carried out an airstrike on a Hezbollah military structure in the Kfarkela area. Artillery units also shelled the regions of Aita al-Shaab and Alma el-Haeb to eliminate threats posed by Hezbollah, the IDF press release noted.

Tensions in the Middle East have escalated dramatically since October 7, 2023, when armed supporters of the Palestinian militant group Hamas infiltrated Israeli territory from the Gaza Strip. The incursion was accompanied by the killing of residents in border towns and the abduction of over 240 hostages.

In response, Israel launched a military operation in the enclave aimed at destroying Hamas' military and political infrastructure and freeing all kidnapped individuals. The fighting in the Gaza Strip continues to this day.
