The situation in the Central Asian region and the South Caucasus remains tense, according to Andrey Serdyukov, head of the Joint Staff of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).

Reported from TASS that during a briefing, Serdyukov highlighted the complex situation in the South Caucasus due to the West's efforts to increase its influence and unresolved territorial disputes.

"In the Central Asian region, there are high risks and challenges associated with international terrorism, extremism, and the illegal spread of weapons, narcotics, and psychotropic substances, which pose a major threat to stability in the member states of the organization," Serdyukov stated.
