Finland to limit export of ammunition components due to Russia

Finland to limit export of ammunition components due to Russia
25.10.2024 13:36
Finland intends to introduce special permits for the export of ammunition components to prevent them from reaching Russia, which is prohibited by European Union sanctions, according to the Finnish Ministry of Interior, reported from TASS.

"The export of ammunition intended for civilian use will become subject to permission," reads the press release.

The goal is to prevent the export of cartridge components, particularly to Russia. The amendments to legislation are necessary to complement existing sanctions regimes and thereby ensure their full functionality, the Ministry of Interior noted.

Additionally, the Finnish Criminal Code will include penalties for unauthorized export of cartridge components.

The draft proposal from the Ministry of Interior is open for comments from all interested parties until November 28, the ministry reports.
