Denmark to provide $1.4 billion in 2025 for Ukraine's military industry

Denmark intends to begin funding Ukraine's military factories and plans to allocate at least $1.4 billion in 2025.

Reported from The Wall Street Journal that the European Union countries cannot provide Ukraine with sufficient weapons, so they are beginning to finance Ukrainian authorities' contracts with the country's military factories. Kyiv first sends information about companies and required types of weapons to allies, and EU states independently verify manufacturers before agreeing to deals.

European officials estimate that this approach will allow Ukraine to acquire weapons faster and in larger quantities than waiting for them to be produced in Europe.

"This is an example of how to ensure faster delivery [of weapons to the front], as well as strengthen Ukraine's own weapons production," Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen told the newspaper in an interview.
