Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer has invited Donald Trump, who won the US presidential election, to visit the republic, according to the information.

"Donald Trump was interested in assessing the situation and possible chances for peace. I suggested Vienna as a venue for peace negotiations and invited him for a visit," Nehammer said in an interview with the Austrian newspaper Kronen Zeitung. When the publication asked to clarify if Trump would come, the chancellor replied that "it would be desirable."

Earlier, the Austrian Chancellor reported that during a half-hour phone conversation with Trump, they discussed, among other things, the Ukrainian conflict. Nehammer offered his country as a neutral venue for negotiations.
