Approximately 300 soldiers from the North Korean military contingent have been killed in the Kursk region of Russia. This is 200 more than the figure of December, Yonhap News wrote, reported from RBC Ukraine.

According to the assessment by the National Intelligence Service of the Republic of Korea, the total casualties among North Korean troops in the region now stand at around 3,000, with 300 killed and 2,700 injured.

In December of this year, South Korean intelligence reported 100 killed and about 1,000 wounded.

On January 11, Ukrainian forces captured two soldiers of the North Korean army for the first time.

This information was later confirmed by South Korean intelligence. According to the prisoners, North Korean troops in the Kursk region suffered significant losses.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy published photographs of the captured North Korean soldiers. He is ready to hand over the soldiers to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un but under one condition.

Earlier, Zelenskyy stated that around 4,000 North Korean soldiers had been killed in clashes with the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
