Azercell expands its initiatives in civil defense

The company participated in a conference dedicated to Civil Defense Day
On March 1- World Civil Defense Day, the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) and the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan jointly hosted a conference on the subject of Civil defense as the guarantee of population safety ".

As part of the event, Anar Mirzayev, Head of the Business Resilience Section at the Security Department of “Azercell Telecom” LLC, delivered a presentation on the role of telecommunications in public safety where he highlighted Azercell’s strategic initiatives to enhance emergency preparedness and contribute to public
safety.

Since 2021, Azercell has actively collaborated with the Main Department for Civil Defense of the MES, reinforcing its role in civil defense initiatives. The company has developed and implemented specialized online training programs to expand learning opportunities. These sessions focus on safe behavior practices in both professional and everyday environments. Azercell has made these resources available not only on its internal academic resources but also on public platforms, extending its reach to a wider audience.

In the frame of its comprehensive emergency preparedness strategy, Azercell employees regularly participate in civil defense drills. The company has also conducted Business Continuity tests involving civil defense teams, technical staff, and management. These exercises have included the participation and support of representatives from the Main Department for organization of activities on Civil Defense.

Guided by its core principle "Reliable Communication, Safe Life," Azercell has collaborated with government institutions and industry stakeholders within the framework of the Crisis Management Group project.

Specialized training programs and emergency response exercises have been facilitated in the framework of this partnership.

To mark World Civil Defense Day, Azercell has organized educational initiatives for employees, special awareness events, and art competitions for children, contributing to the promotion of safety culture across different age groups.
