Azerbaijan posts budget surplus of AZN 1.7 billion in Q1

Azerbaijan’s consolidated budget posted a surplus of 1.68 billion manats ($990 million) in the first quarter of 2025, the Finance Ministry said on Friday.

Budget revenues totalled 10.74 billion manats, while expenditures stood at 9.06 billion manats. Compared to the same period in 2024, revenues were down 14.8% and expenditures fell by 2.2%.

The surplus was 49.75% lower year-on-year and accounted for 5.6% of GDP.
