Ukraine accuses Hungary of spying

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has accused Hungary of conducting unauthorized intelligence gathering in Ukraine and interfering in the country’s internal affairs, escalating tensions between the two nations.
In an interview with Hungary’s Válasz Online, Zelensky said Hungary’s National Security Service (KNBSZ) sought information on the location of Ukrainian air defense systems and local attitudes in Zakarpattia towards the possible deployment of Hungarian peacekeepers. He said NATO had not coordinated any such actions with Budapest.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban dismissed Zelensky’s comments, saying Hungarians “do not want to die for Ukraine” or send their money to Kyiv.
Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry accused the Hungarian government of demonizing Kyiv and President Zelensky, while failing to call on Russia to agree to a ceasefire.
