Interesting and various concert programs are held in the framework of 4 national music festival “Silk Way”.Ensemble of ancient musical instruments has performed in the yard of architecture pearl of the 18th century – Palace of Shaki Khans.The initiator, founder and art director of the ensemble, created with the Azerbaijan State Museum of Musical Culture in 1996, was People's Artist, Professor Majnun Karimov.A unique feature of the ensemble is the use of ancient musical instruments of the 16th century - chang, Chagan, Barbat santur, ores, Rubab, lute, Shirvan tanbur, canon gopuz and many others which have been restored through the thumbnails by Majnun Karimov. The ensemble performs Azerbaijani folk songs and cooperates with modern composers. 14 members of the ensemble wear national garments of that era.The ensemble of ancient musical instruments represents the musical culture of our country on the international level. Over the years it has participated in international symposiums in Edinburgh (Scotland), Melbourne (Australia), in festivals devoted to music of the Middle Ages in Paris, Strasbourg and participated in UNESCO.Art director of the ensemble, honored artist Munis Sharifov is known as a skillful performer on kamancha, Chagan, ney and other musical instruments.The collective ensemble was awarded with presents after the concert on behalf of the Executive Power of Baku.(News.az)ANN.Az
