Azerbaijani Coast Guard detains 24 ships, 182 boats and 307 people

According to the SBS, in 2014, 67 ships and 220 boats were inspected within the frames of the measures taken to ensure that the ships, motor boats and shore checkpoints abide by the security rules in the Azerbaijan’s sector of the Caspian Sea. 20 Azerbaijani ships, 2 Russian ships, 2 Iranian ships, as well as 182 Azerbaijani boats and 307 crew members were detained for violation of the security rules, Fineko/abc.az reports.Over the reporting period the Coast Guard found and confiscated 57 ownerless boats, 1,477,625 meters of different fishing nets and 292,744 meters of banned fishing tackle.(News.Az)Bakudaily.az
