Azerbaijan to impose excise tax on import of a second mobile phone

Azerbaijan plans to introduce an excise tax on mobile phones imported into the country, in addition to existing customs duties, according to the draft 2026 state budget.

Under the proposal, an excise tax of 100 manats ($59) will apply to the second and subsequent mobile phones imported by an individual within a calendar year, regardless of their market value.
