Azerbaijan will cut part of its agricultural subsidy allocations in 2026, Agriculture Minister Majnun Mammadov said during parliamentary discussions on the draft state budget.

He noted that 290 million manats are planned for crop subsidies next year, which is 6 million manats (2%) less than this year, but 16 million manats (5%) more than the actual spending in 2024.

A total of 66 million manats will be allocated for productivity-based subsidies, and 8.4 million manats for seed and seedling production support.

As part of livestock development, 17.3 million manats are earmarked for the subsidised sale of breeding cattle. Farmers will also receive 100 manats for each calf obtained through artificial insemination. The government has allocated 30.3 million manats for this purpose.

The subsidy programme for agricultural machinery, technological equipment and modern irrigation systems will continue, with 90 million manats set aside to cover these payments.

The government will allocate 31 million manats for veterinary measures and vaccine procurement, 14 million manats for plant protection and agrochemical analysis, and a total of 7 million manats for expanding the electronic agricultural information system.

The minister said the measures aim to support sustainable development of the agricultural sector, boost productivity and increase farmers’ incomes.
