The level of computerisation in Azerbaijani schools has improved significantly in recent years, and digital infrastructure continues to expand. Education Minister Emin Amrullayev said this during parliamentary debates on the 2026 state budget.

According to the minister, while in 2020 there was one computer for every 36 students, ongoing measures will reduce this ratio to one computer per six students by 2026.

“This is a major shift for our education system. The shortage of computers in schools has largely been resolved, and the next step is moving towards a ‘one student – one device’ model,” Amrullayev said.

He added that some schools have already begun implementing this model, and it will be expanded gradually.

The minister noted that by 2030 the level of digital access for students across all schools will be fully standardised.

Amrullayev also said that broad IT development programmes are underway in the education system, and investments to create an interactive learning environment will continue.
