New bus lane on Baku–Sumgayit highway sparks complaints from drivers
The introduction of a dedicated bus lane on the Baku–Sumgayit highway has drawn criticism from drivers.
Motorists say the number of lanes available for private vehicles has dropped from four to three, worsening congestion and doubling average travel times from 20 to about 40 minutes.
Transport experts note that the high concentration of residential areas along the route naturally increases traffic volume. They suggest that encouraging greater use of public transport could help ease congestion.
